NABSEF Director -- of Detroit, Michigan, is a life long educator with extensive experience in public education, educational publishing and non profit board service. She is a life member of NABSE having attended NABSE conferences for over forty years. Dedicated to the education of African American children, she is passionate about ensuring that children receive the best researched-based instruction from educators who are not only knowledgeable and well trained but who are enthusiastic about teaching. Mrs. Miller holds B.S. and M.Ed. degrees in the area of language arts and literacy and is also experienced in curriculum and professional development. In her role as educational consultant and vice president for major publishing companies, she has visited school districts and classrooms across the country and has attended numerous educational conferences to stay up-to-date on best practices. Her non profit board experience includes the NABSE Foundation, Minerva Education and Development Foundation in Detroit, MI, the Carr Center for the Arts in Detroit, MI as well as serving as a trustee of the University Liggett School in Michigan, a NAIS school. Mrs. Miller brings to the NABSE Foundation board, non profit board experience, corporate business expertise, integrity and a collaborative spirit to help ensure that the NABSE foundation stays true to its mission of supporting NABSE programs to benefit African American children and educators.
